This policy explains how Binary Link SRL (trading as ESPboards), Place Charles‑Maurice Wiser 10 box 22, 1040 Etterbeek, Belgium (BCE/KBO 0773.559.756, VAT BE0773559756) - referred to as "we", "us", or "ESPboards" - handles data when you use the ESPHome LVGL Designer and the ESPboards component library.

1. What Data We Collect

Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (tag G-J07MWYH9EX) to understand how the Service is used. GA4 collects:

  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Session counts, bounce rate
  • Browser type, OS, device category
  • Approximate location (country/city level - no precise geolocation)
  • Referral source

Analytics data is only collected after you give cookie consent. GA is not loaded until you accept analytics cookies via the cookie banner.

Paddle (Payments)

Component pack purchases are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. When you make a purchase, Paddle collects your email address, payment details, billing country, and purchase history. This data is held by Paddle under their own Privacy Policy. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase occurred (pack ID and unlock status) - we do not store your payment card details or email.

localStorage (Client-side only)

The designer and component library store the following data locally in your browser. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers:

2. Legal Basis for Processing

  • Consent - Google Analytics cookies are set only after you explicitly accept analytics tracking via the cookie banner (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
  • Contract performance - Processing your payment and delivering your purchased component pack (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Legitimate interest - Aggregate, anonymized usage statistics to improve the Service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), balanced against your privacy rights.

3. Data Retention

  • Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months (GA4 default), after which it is automatically deleted.
  • Paddle retains purchase records as required by Belgian tax law (7 years).
  • localStorage data persists in your browser until you clear it - we have no access to delete it remotely.

4. Third-Party Processors

Google LLC (Analytics)

Google Analytics 4 - processes anonymized usage data. Google is located in the USA; data transfers are covered by Google's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Paddle.com Market Ltd (Payments)

Merchant of Record for all purchases. Paddle is located in the UK (post-Brexit adequacy decision applies). See Paddle's Privacy Policy.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access (Art. 15) - request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification (Art. 16) - correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure (Art. 17) - request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restriction (Art. 18) - limit how we process your data.
  • Portability (Art. 20) - receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Object (Art. 21) - object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdraw consent - at any time for analytics cookies, via the cookie banner or browser settings.
